Weavive operates the world’s first AI‑powered, end‑to‑end post‑consumer textile recycling ecosystem, handling collection, hyperspectral AI sorting, mechanical and enzymatic depolymerization, and fiber production under one roof. The system processes over 100,000 tons of feedstock annually, sorts at more than 2 tons per hour with sub‑second accuracy, and supplies virgin‑quality recycled fiber to global brand partners through a network spanning 580+ cities.

Problem
Post-consumer textile waste is largely sent to landfill or down‑cycled into low‑value products, and existing recycling methods either handle only a single step of the value chain or cannot process mixed, contaminated garments at industrial scale, limiting the supply of high‑quality recycled fiber for brands.
Solution
Weavive operates the world’s first AI‑powered, end‑to‑end textile‑to‑textile recycling ecosystem. The company collects post‑consumer garments through a network covering more than 580 cities, then uses hyperspectral imaging to sort fibers by type, color and contamination at a throughput of over 2 tons per hour. Sorted streams are processed in‑house: polyester‑rich material undergoes low‑temperature enzymatic depolymerization to produce virgin‑equivalent r‑PTA monomers, while cotton, wool, cashmere and other natural fibers are mechanically recycled, and mixed residues become recycled cardboard. The recovered monomers are polymerized and extruded into GRS‑certified recycled polyester filament and staple fiber. Physical Aware™ tracers embedded at intake survive every stage, providing batch‑level traceability and Digital Product Passport compliance for brand customers.
Target Audience
Primary customers are global fashion and apparel brands, textile manufacturers, and sustainability teams seeking GRS‑certified recycled polyester fiber with full traceability for EPR, DPP and recycled‑content compliance.
Features
- Hyperspectral AI sorting line (FastSort‑Textile) achieving ≥90 % sort accuracy in under one second per garment, 2+ tons/hour throughput
- Integrated mechanical recycling for cotton, wool, cashmere and conversion of polyester‑rich streams into textile popcorn for enzymatic depolymerization
- Proprietary low‑temperature enzymatic depolymerization (60 °C, aqueous, PFAS‑free) that removes pigments and antimony, yielding purified r‑PTA and r‑EG monomers
- GRS‑certified polymerization and fiber extrusion partners delivering up to 200,000 tons/year of recycled polyester filament and staple fiber
- Aware™ physical tracer system embedded at intake, enabling batch‑level provenance, chain‑of‑custody documentation and Digital Product Passport compliance
- Full‑chain ownership: collection, AI sorting, mechanical and enzymatic recycling, polymerization, extrusion, and traceability under one roof
