Wacomet provides distributed desalination technology leveraging a solvent extraction process powered by solar energy to convert unusable water sources into fresh water with zero liquid discharge. The technology combines saltwater and a solvent in a mixing reactor, where water molecules transfer from the saltwater to the solvent. A separator then isolates the solvent-brine mixture, and solar energy heats the mixture to separate pure water, which undergoes final filtration. The solvent is then recycled back into the beginning of the process. This approach enables organizations to achieve water neutrality by replacing freshwater consumption with sustainably desalinated water from sources like oceans, brackish groundwater, agricultural discharge, industrial wastewater, and municipal wastewater.
