Electronic data loggers are expensive and complex, while color change indicators offer subjective results without data capture. This can lead to spoilage, reduced efficacy, and compliance issues.
Solution
Varcode provides a low-cost, real-time temperature monitoring solution using Smart Tag™ technology. These tags use a food-safe ink and fatty acid compound that dynamically changes the barcode based on cumulative time over temperature. The tags are activated by pulling a tab, and temperature excursions are tracked as the compound fills in the barcode. Scanning the tag with any standard scanner or smartphone provides access to temperature excursion data, location, time, and date via a cloud-based platform.
