The startup develops advanced filtration systems that remove sulfur and carbon emissions from ship exhaust, enabling operators to use high-sulfur fuel while achieving compliance with environmental regulations. Their technology not only reduces harmful emissions but also provides significant cost savings by eliminating the need for more expensive low-sulfur fuel.

Problem
The maritime industry faces increasing pressure to comply with stringent environmental regulations regarding sulfur oxide (SOx), particulate matter, and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, while also seeking cost-effective solutions for fleet operations. Traditional methods of emission reduction, such as using low-sulfur fuel, can be expensive and may not address all types of pollutants.
Solution
Value Maritime offers an Exhaust Gas Cleaning System (EGCS), known as the Filtree System, designed for small to medium-sized ships. This patented technology not only filters sulfur, but also removes ultra-fine particulate matter and CO2 from the air. The Filtree system includes a filter to clean the washing water, removing oil residues and particulate matter, neutralizing the pH value, and reducing CO2 emissions to mitigate seawater acidification. By removing sulfur from exhaust gas, ship operators can continue using existing high-sulfur fuel, resulting in fuel cost savings while ensuring compliance with the IMO 0.1% sulfur cap (SECA). The captured CO2 can be stored in CO2 Batteries or dedicated tanks and offloaded in ports for reuse in industries like agriculture, creating a circular solution.
Target Audience
The primary target audience includes shipowners and operators of small to medium-sized vessels seeking cost-effective and sustainable solutions to comply with environmental regulations and reduce emissions.
