Problem
Many industries rely on combustion-based generators for power, which are noisy, inefficient, require frequent servicing, and produce emissions. While fuel cells offer a cleaner alternative, existing fuel cell technologies often require expensive materials, complex systems, or ultra-pure fuels, limiting their practicality and cost-effectiveness.
Solution
SAFCell develops solid acid fuel cell (SAFC) stacks and solid acid hydrogen generators (SAHG) that enable efficient and clean energy conversion using readily available fuels. SAFCell's SAFCs generate electricity from fuels like propane, methane, methanol, and diesel through electrochemical reactions, offering a silent, low-emission alternative to combustion-based generators. Their SAHGs generate hydrogen from liquid fuels, facilitating on-site hydrogen production for fueling stations and other applications. The technology's fuel flexibility, rugged design, and low maintenance requirements result in a lower total cost of ownership compared to other power generation sources.
