The Polarization & Extremism Research & Innovation Lab (PERIL) develops and disseminates evidence-based intervention strategies to counter polarization and radicalization. PERIL utilizes a public health approach to design, test, and scale up tools that prevent hate, bias, and extremist radicalization. These resources include short-form videos, community training programs, and guides designed to help individuals recognize and interrupt early radicalization processes. The interventions are tested for effectiveness using pre- and post-testing or comparison groups to ensure they meaningfully improve communities’ awareness and ability to intervene.
