Solution
Open Parcel Numbers (OPN) establishes a globally unique, persistent identifier for every land parcel in the United States. The OPN standard normalizes parcel data at the source, providing a single, reproducible reference that can be shared across jurisdictions and industries. By publishing parcel updates—splits, joins, transfers—through a lightweight, free interface, OPN ensures that identifiers remain current and trustworthy. The standard aligns with FGDC directives and OGC cadaster initiatives, enabling seamless integration with digital twins, blockchain registries, AI models, and other geospatial systems without the need for repeated data transformation.
