Laevoroc Oncology develops next-generation cancer immunotherapies, including a potent PNP inhibitor (LR 09) aimed at eradicating relapsed leukemia post-stem cell transplantation, and a patented oral gemcitabine prodrug (LR 06B) for maintenance therapy in pancreatic, ovarian, and breast cancers. These therapies target critical treatment failures in hematological malignancies and improve patient compliance by reducing healthcare burdens associated with traditional chemotherapy.

Problem
Relapsed leukemia after allogeneic stem cell transplantation has a poor prognosis and places a heavy burden on health systems. Current treatments often fail, and new therapies are needed to improve patient outcomes. Additionally, many cancer patients require long-term maintenance therapy, but existing options can have significant side effects and require frequent hospital visits, impacting patient compliance and quality of life.
Solution
Laevoroc Oncology is developing two distinct therapeutic approaches to address critical unmet needs in cancer treatment. LR 09, a potent and selective purine nucleoside phosphorylase (PNP) inhibitor, aims to eradicate relapsed leukemia post-stem cell transplantation by initiating a graft-versus-leukemia effect. This oral immuno-oncology agent activates the transplanted immune system to recognize and fight the leukemia. Laevoroc is also progressing LR 06B, a patented oral gemcitabine prodrug, designed for maintenance therapy in pancreatic, ovarian, and breast cancers. LR 06B is rationally designed to release gemcitabine in the liver after first-pass metabolism, potentially reducing systemic toxicity and improving patient compliance.
Target Audience
The primary target audience includes hematologist-oncologists treating relapsed leukemia patients post-stem cell transplantation, as well as oncologists managing patients with pancreatic, ovarian, and breast cancers requiring maintenance therapy. Laevoroc Neuro-Oncology targets oncologists treating brain cancers.
Features
- LR 09: A novel metabolic immune checkpoint inhibitor that activates the immune system through the release of cytokines and expansion of germinal center B cells and follicular helper T cells.
- LR 09: Designed to initiate graft-versus-leukemia effects in patients relapsing after allogeneic stem cell transplantation.
- LR 09: Targets a novel metabolic immune checkpoint by regulating Toll-like receptor 7 (TLR7) signaling.
- LR 06B: A patented oral prodrug of gemcitabine designed for liver-specific release.
- LR 06B: Aims to provide a low healthcare system and patient burden compared to traditional intravenous gemcitabine.
- LR 02: A highly selective and potent ATR inhibitor with outstanding CNS penetration for the treatment of brain cancers.
