Traditional vascular interventions rely on manual guidewire steering, which can be slow, imprecise, and potentially damaging to delicate blood vessels, especially in complex anatomies. Current methods also limit the ability to deliver targeted therapies directly to the affected areas.
Solution
IMsystem develops medical microrobot systems that enable remote, precise control of magnetic guidewires and catheters within the vascular system using a 3D external magnetic field. Their technology allows physicians to actively steer guidewire-microrobots through complex vascular networks with greater speed, safety, and accuracy compared to manual procedures. The system is designed to be compatible with standard X-ray C-arms and monitoring systems, facilitating seamless integration into existing clinical workflows. In addition to guidewire steering, IMsystem is developing drug/cell-carrying microrobots for targeted therapeutic delivery.
