Networks
Endeavor Optical Networks (EON) builds dedicated, point-to-point data transport capacity through a constellation of optical relay satellites that use free-space laser communications. This approach delivers fiber-grade throughput at roughly one-tenth the cost per bit of traditional subsea cables, with links that can be activated in months rather than years. EON targets enterprises and governments needing secure intercontinental backhaul, path redundancy, or rapid new-region connectivity.

Problem
More than 95% of international internet traffic travels through fiber optic cables on the ocean floor, and current bandwidth capacity is being strained by cloud computing, financial markets, government networks, and AI systems. Global bandwidth needs have tripled in four years, yet a new transoceanic cable system takes five to seven years to come online, limited by cable-laying ships, regulatory hurdles, and massive capital costs. Existing seabed infrastructure is also vulnerable—a single cable break, accidental or hostile, can disrupt a region for weeks.
Solution
EON provides secure, multi-terabits-per-second data transfer capacity using a network of optical relay satellites that employ free-space laser communications. Customers can lease or own dedicated point-to-point links that bypass subsea landing stations, regulatory permitting, and the multi-year lead times of traditional cable systems, bringing capacity online in months rather than years. The space-based links deliver fiber-level throughput with built-in security—optical beams are narrow, directional, and end-to-end encrypted, with nothing to sever or passively intercept. This enables enterprises to establish new intercontinental routes, add redundant backup paths, replicate data between regions, or bootstrap new compute regions without depending on shared or vulnerable terrestrial infrastructure.
Target Audience
Primary customers include enterprises, cloud providers, financial institutions, government networks, and AI systems that require high-capacity, secure, and rapidly deployable intercontinental data transfer routes or redundant path options that bypass traditional subsea cable infrastructure.
Features
- Satellite-based optical relay network using free-space laser communications for fiber-level throughput across dedicated routes
- Dedicated point-to-point links that can be leased or owned outright, with no shared conduit, third-party SLAs, or intermediary infrastructure
- Route activation in months rather than years, unconstrained by cable ship schedules, seabed surveys, or sovereign permitting processes
- Cost efficiency of roughly one-tenth the cost per bit compared to traditional long-haul capacity
- Built-in security with narrow, directional optical beams and end-to-end encryption, resistant to cable severing and radio interception
- Supports multiple use cases: intercontinental long-haul, path redundancy with no shared conduit, intra-region replication, and new region bootstrapping
