Problem
Traditional asphalt production relies on bitumen, a petroleum-based product, contributing to greenhouse gas emissions and resource depletion. The accumulation of non-recyclable plastic waste presents a significant environmental challenge, with much of it ending up in landfills or incinerated.
Solution
Ecopals offers EcoFlakes, a polymer modifier for asphalt made from recycled plastics that would otherwise be incinerated. EcoFlakes replaces a portion of the bitumen in asphalt mixtures, reducing both CO2 emissions and material costs. Asphalt modified with EcoFlakes demonstrates performance comparable to, or better than, asphalt modified with virgin polymers, exhibiting slower aging and extending road lifespan. The use of EcoFlakes contributes to a circular economy by repurposing plastic waste into a valuable construction material.
Target Audience
Ecopals targets road construction companies, asphalt mixing plants, and municipalities seeking sustainable and cost-effective alternatives to traditional asphalt modifiers.
Features
- EcoFlakes Green: PmB-C modification suitable for all road types, maximizing cost-effectiveness and CO2 reduction.
- EcoFlakes Pro: PmB-A modification compliant with technical regulations for public road construction, offering enhanced performance and reduced CO2 emissions.
- Can be added directly to the mixing plant (Doseur) or pre-modified with bitumen.
- Compatible with temperature-reduced asphalt and recycled asphalt.
- EcoFlakes slow down the aging of the bitumen.
- Reduces bitumen emissions during installation and mixing.
- Quality controls are performed on all plastics used before production.
