By presenting the antigen to immune cells in the epidermis, the patch aims to re‑educate the immune system and induce long‑lasting desensitisation without the need for oral ingestion. The approach is being evaluated in a Phase 3 trial for peanut allergy (DBV712) and completed Phase 1/2 and Phase 2a studies for a milk allergy patch (DBV135). VIASKIN® is designed for use in pediatric and adolescent patients, offering a non‑invasive, clinic‑administered or home‑use option that could reduce the burden of daily dosing and improve safety compared with oral therapies.
