Cybrexa Therapeutics is developing a novel class of peptide-drug conjugates (PDCs) that utilize its proprietary alphalex™ technology to deliver potent anti-cancer agents directly into tumor cells, independent of surface antigens. The alphalex™ platform employs a pH-low insertion peptide (pHLIP) that targets the acidic environment of tumors, enabling selective drug delivery into the cytoplasm of cancer cells. This approach enhances the efficacy of anti-cancer treatments while reducing off-target effects and toxicity to healthy tissues. Cybrexa's lead candidate, CBX-12, is a first-in-class PDC that utilizes the alphalex™ technology to deliver exatecan, a topoisomerase 1 inhibitor, directly to tumor cells. CBX-12 has demonstrated promising activity across a range of advanced or metastatic solid tumors in Phase 1 clinical trials and is currently in Phase 2 trials for platinum-resistant ovarian cancer.
