Problem
The production of cement, a key component of concrete, accounts for a significant portion of global CO₂ emissions. Simultaneously, large quantities of concrete waste are downcycled or discarded, representing a missed opportunity for resource recovery and emissions reduction. Traditional recycling methods often fail to produce high-value materials that can replace cement in new concrete production.
Solution
C2CA Technology provides a concrete waste upcycling solution that transforms end-of-life concrete into high-value, circular materials, including gravel, sand, and a supplementary cementitious material (SCM). The upcycling process involves physical separation technologies and a heated air separation method to extract and refine the original fractions of gravel, sand, and cement paste from concrete rubble. The recycled cement paste is then activated into a reactive binder (SCM) that can replace cement in new concrete production, significantly reducing CO₂ emissions. This approach enables the production of circular concrete with a substantially lower carbon footprint compared to traditional methods.
Target Audience
C2CA's primary customers include concrete producers, construction companies, and infrastructure developers seeking sustainable, low-carbon alternatives to traditional concrete materials.
