Problem
Traditional solar inverters often suffer from inefficiencies and high costs due to limitations in power density, thermal management, and component lifespan. These issues lead to increased capital expenditure, higher maintenance costs, and reduced overall performance of solar power systems.
Solution
BREK Electronics designs and manufactures high-efficiency solar string inverters utilizing silicon carbide (SiC) composite architecture. This novel design achieves a four-fold increase in power density compared to conventional silicon-based inverters, resulting in a lighter, more compact system. By optimizing the entire system for SiC components, BREK's inverters offer superior thermal conductivity, leading to lower operating temperatures and a projected 10x improvement in mean time to failure. The use of planar magnetics and ceramic capacitors also enables automated manufacturing, further reducing costs.
Target Audience
BREK's primary customers are commercial and utility-scale solar PV facilities seeking to reduce capital and operational expenses while improving the performance and reliability of their solar power systems.
