Problem
Access to high‑altitude, hypersonic flight environments is limited by expensive, single‑use rockets and complex launch infrastructure, making it difficult and costly for scientists, industry, and defense agencies to conduct experiments, qualify hardware, or perform rapid‑response missions.
Solution
AndroMach offers Envol, a reusable hypersonic drone that takes off from a conventional runway using jet engines, then ignites a cryogenic LOX/propane rocket engine mid‑flight to reach Mach 5 and an apogee of 200 km. After completing its mission, Envol glides back to land, enabling turnaround times of less than six hours. The vehicle’s re‑ignitable engine provides multiple boost phases, delivering high thrust both within and above the atmosphere while keeping operational costs low through full reusability. Validation of the Banger engine at France’s DGA Missile Test Center and support from CNES ensure flight‑ready performance for a range of scientific, industrial, and defense applications.
Target Audience
Primary customers include research institutions conducting atmospheric and microgravity experiments, aerospace companies needing rapid hypersonic hardware testing, and defense agencies requiring high‑altitude operational capabilities.
Features
- Dual jet engines for runway takeoff and cruise, transitioning to a cryogenic LOX/propane rocket for high‑altitude ascent
