Problem
Current digital displays are limited by the RGB color model, which can only reproduce a fraction of the colors perceivable by the human eye, resulting in a less immersive and realistic viewing experience. Existing color systems struggle to preserve the full spectrum of color data captured by modern cameras throughout the content pipeline.
Solution
6P Color has developed Full Color Range™ (FCR), a patented color management system that enables the capture, processing, and display of a wider range of colors, closely matching the full spectrum visible to humans. FCR leverages existing technology and standards, with minimal changes needed to established workflows like the Academy Color Encoding System (ACES). The FCR system uses Yxy or XYZ to transport color data, which allows it to coexist with legacy RGB displays while also enabling future multi-primary displays. By preserving RAW color data from capture to display, FCR delivers increased brightness, power savings, and color consistency across different displays.
Target Audience
The primary target audience includes display manufacturers, content creators (digital cinema, animation, visual effects), and other industries seeking more accurate and vibrant color reproduction, such as medical imaging, virtual production, and gaming.
